Since we first opened our doors, Alliston Physiotherapy has been offering Sports Physiotherapy to patients of all different levels of athletic ability. Beginning with weekend warriors and recreational athletes and progressing all the way up to high-level runners and competitive athletes. Sports rehabilitation focuses on the particular injuries that athletes sustain, as well as the requirements that are specific to their sport in terms of healing and injury prevention.

Common Injuries we Treat include:

Ankle Sprain
Ninety percent of all ankle ailments are attributed to ankle sprains. A sprain transpires when ligaments are torn or excessively strained. Ligaments support joints, inhibiting excessive movement between bones.

Rotator Cuff Injury

Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)

This is an overuse injury resulting in discomfort and inflammation of the tendons connected to the lateral epicondyle of the elbow.



Medial Epicondylitis (Golfer's Elbow)

This disorder induces discomfort at the site where the tendons of the forearm muscles connect to the bone on the medial aspect of the elbow.



Hamstring and Groin Strains

Hamstring and groin injuries often occur in several sports, including hockey, soccer, and baseball.



Patellar Tendon Disorders

Jumper's knee, or patellar tendonitis, is an overuse ailment resulting in anterior knee discomfort.



Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome or Chondromalacia Patellae

Patellar pain is situated in the anterior aspect of the knee or posterior to the patella. It typically happens in those who regularly engage in sports, particularly in teenage females.



Concussions

A concussion is a severe brain injury often resulting from a blow to the head. They are often seen in contact sports.
